How to use
Directions for Use
Large, loose flakes of corrosion should be removed using a steel wire brush or other mechanical cleaning methods. Grease and similar stubborn contaminants should be removed prior to rust removal.
The cleaning solution may be applied by spraying or rubbing onto the rusted surface. However, the best results are achieved through immersion in the solution, which also increases the effectiveness of the product.
TED-RUST™ can be reused multiple times. Tests have shown that the solution remains effective even after 20 to 40 cycles of use.
Parts should remain immersed in the solution until rust and oxide layers are completely removed from the surface. Immersion time varies from 30 minutes to 12 hours, depending on the amount of corrosion, steel type, and temperature. Higher temperatures significantly reduce reaction time. Typically, treatment time ranges from 1 to 4 hours.
The recommended bath temperature for TED-RUST™ (TM300) is above 20°C (68°F), with optimal results at approximately 25°C (77°F). Increasing the liquid temperature (e.g., to 40°C / 104°F) accelerates the rust removal process but also increases evaporation.
After cleaning, parts should be thoroughly dried before applying further coatings such as galvanizing or painting. For long-term storage, cleaned parts should be properly protected and preserved.
